New update on the BSB Business Services Training Package
As most in the VET industry would be aware, PwC’s Skills for Australia has recently released Version 7 of the BSB Business Services Training Package. You can find their final draft for submission to the AISC here.
PwC has significantly streamlined and updated this Training Package – separating its qualifications and units into Business Enterprise Skills and Technical Skills. At the same time, they have also made improvements to Workplace Health and Safety qualifications and units, to take into account these new technical and enterprise skill units.
What are the updates?
Some of the more significant changes are in relation to business qualifications, which now have “specialisations” – providing the opportunity for students to focus on their preferred study area. For example, the BSB50120 Diploma of Business specialisations are:
- Business Operations,
- Leadership,
- Organisational Development,
- Compliance,
- Business Development,
- Digital and Data,
- Records Information Management,
- Procurement, and
- Evaluations.
Additionally, some qualifications, such as the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business and the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership, have had entry requirements added – to reflect their advanced learning outcomes.
You may also notice that the performance evidence for many units of competency across both streams now include the requirement to demonstrate such evidence on more than one occasion. This is a significant update that will change the assessment of student capabilities.
