RTO Compliance Consulting

Our RTO compliance consultants provide audit rectification and support for a wide range of compliance health issues.

Change of Ownership Support


ASQA has mandated strict regulations regarding changes in ownership of RTOs and VET providers. These events can trigger an audit and additional scrutiny, and our RTO consultants can help you navigate the change.

RTOs and CRICOS providers are not permitted to transfer their registration from one legal entity to another. However, where shares within an RTO are transferred, the provider may continue as long as they notify ASQA of the change of ownership.

If your provider is a VET-only training provider, you may notify ASQA of the change after it occurs. Notification is your responsibility as the new owner, not the responsibility of the person selling their shares.

If your training provider is CRICOS registered, you will need to inform ASQA of the change in shareholdings before it occurs. You must also make sure the current owner has also notified ASQA of the impending change of ownership.

Anyone involved in this change of ownership process must meet certain obligations. RTO Works can provide advice, support and guidance during this process in relation to the Notification of material change as required by ASQA.

We can also assist you with the mandatory evidentiary requirements, including the Fit and Proper Person requirements, Financial Viability Risk Assessment (FVRA) requirements and support with the Self-Assessment Tool.
