RTO Compliance Consulting

Our RTO compliance consultants provide audit rectification and support for a wide range of compliance health issues.

Ongoing Compliance Support

Compliance is an integral part of successful RTO and VET operations, and fostering a strong culture of compliance is key to long-term success. RTO Works offers ongoing support to help you maintain high standards, with flexible retainer services and blocks of consulting hours.

Retainer services are available across three package options—Starter, Standard, and Premium—each offered on a minimum 12-month arrangement. The Starter package provides a set number of consulting hours each quarter, the Standard package offers consulting hours on a monthly basis, and the Premium package includes consulting hours each fortnight, giving you regular access to your designated consultant.

Alternatively, we also offer consulting hour blocks. Our consulting blocks are highly popular and can be scheduled as-needed or incorporated into project-based work. Each block can be tailored to your RTO’s specific needs, providing guidance, advice, and feedback to strengthen your compliance culture and support continuous improvement.

Change of Ownership Support

ASQA has strict regulations regarding changes in ownership of RTOs and VET providers, which can trigger audits and additional scrutiny. While RTOs and CRICOS providers cannot transfer their registration to a new legal entity, share transfers within an RTO are allowed with proper notification to ASQA. VET-only providers notify ASQA after the change, whereas CRICOS providers must inform ASQA of shareholding changes before they occur, ensuring the current owner has also provided notification.

RTO Works can guide you through the entire change of ownership process, providing advice and support for the Notification of Material Change and related obligations. We can also assist with mandatory evidentiary requirements, including Fit and Proper Person checks, Financial Viability Risk Assessment (FVRA), and support with the Self-Assessment Tool. Additionally, we can conduct a due diligence audit for clients looking to purchase an RTO.

Rectification Support

Things don’t always go as planned. For instance, your RTO may have been through a regulatory audit and been found to be non-compliant with the regulatory framework.

We understand that this is a very stressful time for RTO owners, managers and their staff, and we provide timely support when it’s needed most.

If your RTO has been found non-compliant, reach out to us as soon as possible. Our experienced consultants have supported clients through audit rectifications relating to:

  • Performance assessment audits
  • Agreement to rectify processes
  • Internal review processes
  • Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) proceedings
  • And more

Where required, we can also provide referrals to our legal partners, so you can get the right experts to support you through this stressful period.
